Hi There!

My name is Amanda and I am the face behind Inner Fit Nutrition. My role is to encourage and guide you to better health and performance through healthy nutritious eating. It’s easier than you think and some very small changes will make a big difference to you and give you back control and vitality in you life.


My Health Story

At the age of 19, I quit my job as a medical laboratory analyst and travelled around Australia with a very good friend, and whilst we had an amazing time our food and lifestyle choices lead me to gaining nearly 10 kilograms (22 pounds) in six months. When I returned home and the holiday blues kicked in, I decided to get fit and healthy again. While this sounded like a great idea, I slowly became obsessed with exercise, punishing myself more than 3 hours a day, 7 days a week at the gym or pounding the pavement, all the while starving myself to get into shape. Before long I was burnt out. I had developed a terrible relationship with food and with my body. Diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Disease (IBS) and very low iron, I decided enough was enough and it was time I took better care of myself. After going through an elimination diet to rule out the foods that were triggering my IBS symptoms, I had a lot of work to do on my mental health. I started practising yoga and meditation, and joined the gym under the guidance of a personal trainer. They taught me the correct way to exercise, the importance of rest days and how to train correctly and intensely, without sacrificing my health. It was this moment that I knew that I needed to educate myself more about nutrition, and its importance for optimum health, so I began studying Nutritional Medicine. I also completed the Sports and Exercise Nutrition Certification with Precision Nutrition.

My Life Today 

Life now is fantastic! I am fitter and stronger than I have ever been, and am eating a wide variety of healthy and nutritious wholefoods. My passion for cooking and fuelling my body correctly has never been greater, and my attitude towards food and staying lean, and more importantly healthy has improved tenfold. I have loads of energy, have restored my very low iron levels, and am no longer suffering from the symptoms of IBS. The knowledge I have acquired over the years from my own personal experience and from helping others has made me who I am today.

I am a wife and mum of 2 beautiful children and am grateful for their support and love of our chosen lifestyle. We believe in moderation and more importantly, balance, so that this lifestyle is something we can live by easily, and without feeling like we are deprived or missing out!

I am so passionate about health and fitness that I want to share it with everyone! I enjoy interacting with people and encouraging them along the way, and nothing makes me prouder when they call or email to say that they achieved the goals that we set together.
